Clinical Manager - CAC/CCS Required - Baton Rouge, LA

Cenikor Foundation is a non-profit organization and one of the largest substance abuse treatment centers in the nation. We are currently looking for a Clinical Manager for our long-term inpatient facility located in Baton Rouge, LA.Licensure Required:  CAC/CCS Licensure Preferred:  LAC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW


Responsible for coordinating day-to-day clinical operations and maintaining facility compliance requirements.  The clinical manager ensures substance abuse treatment and services are provided to each client via appropriate training and management of clinical staff.  Clinical Manager also provides leadership and feedback to the clinical team on a consistent basis.


  1. Ensure the clinical treatment program is effectively administered and meets regulatory requirements.
  2. Supervise clinical staff and manage counselor caseloads to comply with licensure standards.
  3. Identify services and support needed to address client problems and needs.
  4. Ensure staff documentation meets the criteria for appropriate level of care according to clinical, funding and billing.
  5. Participate as a team member in providing an optimum environment for client recovery.
    • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments utilizing clinical skills and knowledge to diagnose substance abuse/dependency and mental health disorders.
    • Work with clients to develop and implement an individualized, clinical treatment plan within five (3) service days of admission.
    • Develop individualized treatment plan based on comprehensive assessment. 
    • Conduct regularly scheduled treatment plan reviews documenting continuity of care.   
    • Provide individual and group counseling services to each client as indicated by the therapeutic schedule and treatment plan utilizing multiple therapeutic techniques to assist clients in reaching their goals.
  6. Work closely with Facility Director to uphold the core principles of Cenikor’s culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
  7. Provide initial training and orientation as well as on-going leadership and support to all members of the clinical department to ensure that they have the tools necessary to carry out their job responsibilities.
  8. Ensure clinical staff completes all required reports in a timely manner.
  9. Ensure clinical staff remains informed of policy and regulatory changes and updates staff on changes as appropriate.
  10. Ensure weekly training and observation is conducted and documented with all applicable clinical staff.
  11. Oversee Orientation group process (class) to ensure regularly scheduled Life Skills and Chemical Dependency Counseling group sessions are provided; ensure orientation members are educated on program components.
  12. Participate in the facility Quality Assurance program.
  13. Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable matters to the Senior Vice-President/Facility Director.
  14. Intervene as necessary on issues relating to client complaints, concerns and operational issues.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as defined in this job description.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experienced and/or knowledgeable in providing education and therapeutic counseling for individuals and for groups.
  • Experienced and capable of identifying appropriate resources for client development and providing substance abuse counseling.
  • Capable of discerning facts from opinions and remaining objective when listening to conflicting opinions.
  • Possess excellent counseling and documentation skills.
  • Ability to diagnose substance abuse/dependency and mental health disorders.
  • Experienced in working with diverse population.
  • Possess good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team to successfully achieve goals.
  • Patience, perseverance, and resilience in a challenging environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Outlook calendar.

  • Bachelor’s required, Master’s Degree preferred in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences or closely related field. *
  • Master’s degree required for mental health diagnosis and treatment.


  • Three (3) years experience in counseling and program administration relating to addiction.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure Required:

  • Clinical Licensure: CAC or CCS required LPC, LMSW or LCSW preferred
