Admissions Manager (LCDCi required) - Deer Park, TX

Cenikor Foundation is a non-profit organization and one of the largest substance abuse treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking an Admissions Manager in our facility located in Deer Park, TX.

The Admissions Manager is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations in the Admissions Department and ensuring that the Department functions efficiently and effectively. Manages the waitlist and works closely with the access center, referring agencies and individuals to ensure admission to the programs at full census on a daily basis. Responsible for the daily census report and other statistical reports as needed, entry of admission data and creation of client records, and maintaining referral data base and wait lists. Ensures that the screening and interviewing process is conducted appropriately and in compliance with regulations.


  1. Coordinate referrals from agencies/organizations including evaluating all referral material and consulting with medical staff to facilitate admissions as appropriate. Follow provisions of admission of priority populations as well as Cenikor policy and procedure.
  2. Works closely and communicates effectively with access center team to ensure all persons interested in admission to Cenikor are contacted within the set required timeframe and admissions are completed as appropriate. Completes any required documentation and reporting for access center as required.
  3. Assess referral system problems or barriers, and consult with the Access Center Supervisor, Director of Admissions and Access Center, and Facility Director to reduce impediments to treatment.
  4. Assist in developing and adhering to departmental budget expenditures.
  5. Oversee all interviews in all settings (in-house and jail).
  6. Assist in all functions associated with Admissions including collecting and coordinating collection of client responsibility with Business Manager and Accounting department.
  7. Provide program information to the general public, responds appropriately to phone calls, correspondence, and e-mail inquiries.
  8. Manage the referral database capturing information on all referrals, their status on the waiting list, and projected admission dates. Initiate contact with the referring agency/person when a treatment bed is assigned to the referral.
  9. Work with Outreach Managers and Access Center Supervisor to coordinate legal referrals.
  10. Provide information for appropriate outside referrals for any client not accepted for admission to the program.
  11. Develop and maintain excellent communication with the Criminal Justice System, including probation and parole officers, judges, court liaison officers and District Attorneys.
  12. Complete all documentation with client necessary for admission to the program.
  13. Work closely with Facility Director to uphold the core principles of Cenikor’s culture and contribute to a positive working environment for all team members.
  14. Report daily census by compiling information consisting of the number of admissions, discharges, and total number of active clients in the facility. Generate statistical reports from databases when necessary for facility management and corporate office.
  15. Demonstrate flexibility in providing coverage and availability via scheduling adjustments for unexpected absences, events, or call volume related to admissions.
  16. Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and Foundation matters and refer questionable issues to Facility Director and Director of Admissions and Access Center.
  17. Provide initial training and orientation as well as on-going leadership and support to all members of the department to ensure that they have the tools necessary to carry out their job responsibilities.
  18. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulatory standards as well as Cenikor policies and procedures.
  19. Participate in QA process, insuring all standards are met. Assist with implantation and ensure on-going compliance to CARF standards, as appropriate.
  20. Inform FD/Director of Admissions and Access Center of departmental activities as appropriate.
  21. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as assigned in this job description.


Skills,Knowledge and Abilities:


  • Experienced and capable in assessing client needs and identifying appropriate resources for client development.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System.
  • Possesses good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Capable of discerning facts from opinions and remaining objective when listening to conflicting opinions.
  • Presents a positive, customer service oriented, and professional image.
  • Experienced in working with diverse population.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Outlook calendar.

  • High School Diploma or GED


  •  One (1) years of admissions experience preferred.

  • Valid Driver’s License
